Federal Pell Grants
Pell Grants are the foundation of federal student financial aid, which can be added to other federal and nonfederal fund sources. Pell Grants are generally awarded to undergraduate students who haven’t earned a bachelor’s or graduate degree.
Unlike loans, Federal Pell Grants don’t have to be repaid unless you are awarded funds incorrectly or you withdrew from school.
Student Veterans of America
Student Veterans of America’s mission is to provide military veterans with the resources, support, and advocacy needed to succeed in higher education and following graduation.
The American Legion
The American Legion was chartered and incorporated by Congress in 1919 as a patriotic veterans organization devoted to mutual helpfulness. It is the nation’s largest wartime veterans service organization, committed to mentoring youth and sponsorship of wholesome programs in our communities, advocating patriotism and honor, promoting strong national security, and continued devotion to our fellow servicemembers and veterans.
Sport Clips Help A Hero Scholarship
The VFW’s “Sport Clips Help A Hero Scholarship” provides service members and veterans with the financial assistance they need to complete their educational goals without incurring excessive student loan debt. It’s just another way for us to say “thank you” to those who fought for our freedoms.
AMVETS, which is also known as American Veterans, is the largest and oldest veterans service organization that is open to and fights for all veterans and their families.
AMVETS Mission Statement: To enhance and safeguard the entitlements for all American Veterans who have served honorably and to improve the quality of life for them, their families, and the communities where they live through leadership, advocacy, and services.
As one of America’s leading veterans service organizations with more than 250,000 members, AMVETS has a proud history of assisting veterans and sponsoring numerous programs that serve our country and its citizens. Membership in AMVETS is open to anyone who honorably served, or currently serving, in the U.S. Armed Forces, including the National Guard and Reserves.
